Katy Anderson

Programming & Operations Director

Katy manages programming operations and helps direct and produce on-air talent for 89.1 WBOI and 94.1 WBNI.   She has lived in Fort Wayne for most of her life and is a graduate of IPFW where she studied political science and journalism.  Though her interests and background in non-profits and public policy were what initially brought her to NIPR, she quickly found herself drawn to public radio programming and audience research.  Anderson is a strong believer in centering programming on listeners, and oversaw the station’s major programming changes over the past six years years. She's also helped produce award-winning, community-oriented news programming on WBOI.

In September NPR Media Correspondent David Folkenflik visited WBOI staff and listeners in Fort Wayne. Based in New York City, Folkenflik reports on how the media influence politics and culture, the figures who shape journalism. His stories and analyses are broadcast on NPR’s Morning Edition, Here & Now, and All things Considered, and are also featured on NPR’s website and digital platforms.

89.1 WBOI is trying a new kind of fund drive this fall. It's called a Warp Drive, and we're trying to reach our goal of $200,000 online and by mail, WITHOUT interrupting your favorite programs!

The deadline to meet our goal is Wednesday, Oct. 12th. If we make our deadline, there will be no on-air fund drive! If we haven't made it to $200,000 by the 13th, we'll begin our traditional on-air pledge drive but stop when the goal is met.
