Brewery Pours Up ‘Small Town Hero’ IPA To Honor Teacher Jason Seaman

JT Walker's Restaurant and Brewery

A brewery is honoring Noblesville West Middle School teacherJason Seaman with a specially brewed beer.

Seaman and student Ella Whistler suffered gunshot wounds when another student opened fire in a classroom back in May.

JT Walker’s Restaurant and Brewery is located in Seaman’s hometown of Mahomet, Illinois.

Owner Justin Taylor has known Seaman for years. He says Seaman was the first to try the new IPA, called “small-town hero.”

“It’s really tasty,” Taylor says. “It’s gone over really well. We’ve gotten really good feed back on it, and most importantly, Jason likes it and that’s what we wanted.”

Taylor says they chose to make an American IPA style beer because Seaman’s favorite beer is an IPA.

“We’ve already run through everything we have on tap of the beer, and now we’re down to the last couple cases of the cans,” Taylor says.

Taylor says he doesn’t expect the rest of the cans to last very long. He says a portion of the proceeds go toward the shooting victims’ medical bills.

A 13-year-old boy is accused of shooting Seaman and Whistler.
