This month Classical 94.1 WBNI will feature a variety of holiday programming! Below is a list of some of the programs WBNI will air to help you get into the holiday spirit.

Leroy Anderson ChristmasSaturday, December 17th from 8-9 p.m.

What better show to deck the halls and bring on the holiday cheer than Leroy Anderson Christmas with hosts Leonard Slatkin and Kurt Anderson, son of the composer! The celebration features recordings by Leonard Slatkin conducting the BBC Concert Orchestra, Kurt Anderson conducting his “Pops” Concert Orchestra, and audio of Leroy Anderson talking about his famous Christmas compositions.

Candles Burning BrightlySaturday, December 24th from 9-10 p.m.

Enlighten audiences with this one-hour celebration of Chanukah, the Jewish Festival of Lights. Mindy Ratner hosts this holiday favorite and exploration of Chanukah foods and traditional activities - and plenty of music.

Advent VoicesSaturday, December 24th from 10-11 p.m.

Holiday can be hectic. Advent Voices is a program that gives listenesr an opportunity to pause and reflect, as host Lynne Warfel presents an hour of gorgeous, contemplative music related to the Advent season, the Christmas story, and its symbolism.

Sing for JoySunday, December 25th from 6-6:30 a.m.

For many years, St. Olaf College has been pleased to offer a radio program featuring music for the Advent and Christmas season from its internationally renowned Christmas Festival concert. This year's program, And On Earth Peace, presents highlights from the 2015 Christmas Festival, featuring the five choirs of St. Olaf College and the St. Olaf Orchestra. Pastor Bruce Benson serves as host.

This service in song and word has become one of the nation's most cherished holiday celebrations. The festival includes hymns, carols, choral works, as well as orchestral selections celebrating the Nativity and featuring more than 500 student musicians in five choirs, and the St. Olaf Orchestra. SymphonyCast host Alison Young shares the sights and sounds of this choral favorite.

Host Michael Barone presents this live service of spoken-word and music (choral and organ) broadcast from the chapel of King's College in Cambridge, England. The 30-voice King's College Choir performs the legendary Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols service of Biblical readings and music.
