Despite Evolving Tech, Two Wheels Still Deliver Simple Pleasures

Summit City Bicycles and Fitness

Bicycles first hit the streets in the 19th century, and since then, the basics of the bike haven't changed that much. At its simplest, it's just a chain, crank, two wheels and some forward motion.

What has changed: taste and technology. Today's sophisticated machines are designed to fit any lifestyle -- sometimes with a price tag that rivals that of a small car.

WBOI's Julia Meek met with Tim Wegner and James Holm of Summit City Bicycles and Fitness to learn more about how the bicycle -- and cycling itself -- has evolved over the years.
