Dec 17, 2014

89.1 WBOI and 94.1 WBNI are happy to bring you both new and traditional programs this holiday season!

89.1 WBOI

Tonight from 9-11, don't miss the final installment of The Nights Before Christmas, an eclectic mix of holiday music!

On Dec. 19th from 8-11pm, you can hear holiday jazz music on the Friday Vibe, put together by host Bruce Reidenbach.

At 8pm on Saturday, Dec. 20th and Wednesday, Dec. 24th, Julia Meek presents the Folktale of Season's Greetings for WBOI's Folktales, which features songs from around the world that celebrate the holiday season.

At 10pm on Tuesday, Dec. 23rd Guitar Showcase will feature holiday guitar music.

Classical 94.1 WBNI

Every weekday from 6am-12pm and 4pm-7pm, WBNI's new programming from Classical Music Indy will feature holiday music in the days leading up to Christmas.

WBNI's Matinee host Stan Whippo will feature holiday music on Dec. 24th from noon to 4pm.

A Chanticleer Christmas airs at 2pm on Christmas Day.  A Chanticleer Christmas is a one-hour celebration of the season as told through the glorious voices of Chanticleer, the 12-voice San Francisco-based men's choir. The program spans the globe and the centuries — from England in the 1300s to new arrangements of classic and contemporary carols to Chanticleer's popular Gospel medley of Christmas tunes.

A Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols is a seasonal favorite that airs on Dec. 24th from 9-11pm.  This is a live music and spoken-word broadcast from the chapel of King's College in Cambridge, England. The 30-voice King's College Choir performs the legendary Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols service of Biblical readings and music.

The St. Olaf Christmas Festival  airs on Dec. 25th from 12-2pm. More than 500 talented students perform hymns, carols, choral works and orchestral selections to celebrate the Nativity.
