Peabody Foundation's Stan Wilson treasures Davisson's paintings for their beauty, and their connection with Indiana's past.

Nationally renowned Hoosier painter Homer Davisson is remembered as the "dean of Indiana artists" because of his impact on the state's arts scene in the first half of the 20th century.

His impressionistic landscapes are found mostly in limited personal collections and art galleries throughout the Midwest.

But his wife Bess donated twenty of the artist's favorite works to the Peabody Home in North Manchester, and these will be featured in a rare benefit auction this Saturday.

Earlier this week, WBOI's Julia Meek met with Stan Williams from the Peabody Home Foundation, to discuss the legacy this collection represents.
