Jazz Vocalist Guylenn Brings a Taste of Paris to Fort Wayne

Guylenn

As a popular fixture on the Paris jazz scene, vocalist Guylenn has played concerts with Dizzie Gillespie, Dider Lockwood and Stephane Grappelli.

She also spent ten years touring with Claude Bolling and his Big Band, and loves teaching her craft at the National Paris Conservatory.

Now she's visiting Fort Wayne for a week to help her family launch their new cabaret at the LaSalle Bed and Breakfast.

WBOI's Julia Meek couldn't wait to invite Guylenn to the Madge Rothschild Studios to learn more about her passion for jazz.

You can find out more about Guylenn's appearances at the new LaSalle Bed and Breakfast Cabaret at their website.

A Fort Wayne native, Julia is a radio host, graphic artist, and community volunteer, who has contributed to NIPR both on- and off-air for forty years. Besides being WBOI's arts & culture reporter, she currently co-produces and hosts Folktales and Meet the Music.
