Jug bands were a turn-of-the-20th-century American invention, popular for their mix of traditional and homemade instruments, and of course, their jug players.

While the genre is far less likely to be in the spotlight today, one Fort Wayne band is determined to keep the custom alive and well.

That band is proud to call itself The Jug Huffers.

And WBOI's Julia Meek met with two of its founding members, husband & wife team Gayle Goodrich and Jeff Burdek to discuss the lasting appeal of this novel tradition.
