Parks Growth Planned In Adams Township

Earlier this week, the New Haven-Adams Township Park Board unveiled a multi-million dollar, multi-year action plan for their nine properties.

Among the items listed on the New Haven-Adams Township Parks wishlist are climbing walls, a dog park and an accessible playground.

Park Superintendent Mike Clendenen estimates the Action Plan’s price tag would cost somewhere around $8 million.

The document, unveiled at their monthly meeting Monday evening, presents a starting point, a place from which to build.

"This action plan has come out through public input, staff input. We held a public input meeting last fall, showing our parks and giving some ideas of what we were thinking about and get their opinions," Clendenen said.

The proposed projects are contingent on finding funding through grants, loans and other sources, but Clendenen is optimistic they can accomplish much of it between 2019 and 2022. He says they hope to build on the success of the Community Center, which took 25 years to bring to fruition.

"The Community Center is something many in the community didn't think was going to happen. We want to build off that momentum and keep going," he said.
