The YWCA visits schools in Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, Noble, Wells and Whitley Counties to teach middle and high school students about teen dating violence. 

YWCA of Northwest Indiana

This Valentine’s Day season domestic violence survivors were the guests of honor at this year’s HEART Gala hosted by the YWCA of Northwest Indiana. In order to protect the survivors’ safety no identifying information was used.

Hair care professionals gathered Monday at Parkview Field for a training on domestic violence. Participants were taught to recognize warning signs of domestic violence and how to safely refer clients to local resources.

YWCA

Two Fort Wayne non-profits that serve women in the region announced they’re  merging Wednesday. 

Hope House will now be a division of YWCA Northeast Indiana. The two organizations have complimentary missions - Hope House provides  transitional housing for homeless women facing addiction. 

The 120-year-old  YWCA offers a domestic violence shelter for women in Allen and the surrounding  counties.   

Debbie Beckman is the President and CEO of YWCA Northeast Indiana. She says  more awareness of the issues is creating more demand.
