As Fort Wayne's historic West Central Neighborhood is gearing up for its annual Home and Garden Tour this weekend, there's a new feature on display.

West Central artist, Diane Groenert, at work on one of her distinctive neighborhood house portraits.

One neighborhood resident and artist has published a book, called "2 Centuries & West Central: Portraits & Diane Groenert."

Along with its 56 images and accompanying descriptions, the volume includes a map of the locations, and "a bit of cherry-picked history" concerning the city and the district.

Earlier this week, Groenert met with WBOI's Julia Meek to discuss the scope and significance of the project and its environs.
