Fort Wayne Community Development Director Greg Leatherman announced he will be retiring from his position next month.
Leatherman has been the Community Development Director since 2014, but he may best be remembered for his time as the executive director of the Redevelopment Commission. In that position, he oversaw the approval and development of Parkview Field, which the City credits as the driver behind other projects such as Skyline Plaza and the Riverfront.
In total, Leatherman has been a public servant in Fort Wayne for 20 years, and his resignation will be effective on April 12. Mayor Tom Henry will interview replacement candidates and hopes to have one named “within the next several months.”
