Electric Works Providing Tours Of GE Campus Through May

Electric Works will be conducting tours of the old General Electric campus throughout the month of May.

With the project still in political limbo and seeking $65 million in public funding, the leaders behind the project are inviting the community to see the dank interior and deliver a more clear vision for the site’s future.

Kevin Erb is a spokesperson for the Electric Works project, and says there’s a lot of curiosity around the campus and what may be done with it. But why would they want to show residents the campus’s musty, abandoned remains?

“As you get them on campus, walk them through it, explain the vision, explain the experience that they have and how they’ve done this before, it starts to make a connection for them and they can see how it becomes a reality,” said Erb.

Tours will take place on Tuesdays at 10:30 am and Wednesdays at 4:30 pm, and have all met their capacity of 25 guests. Erb says Electric Works will consider having more tours down the road if these are successful.
