Fort Wayne Guitar Center Opens Music-Themed Art Gallery

Music and "music art" are a natural pairing, and beginning this Friday, Fort Wayne's Guitar Center is inaugurating a series of exhibits in its new gallery space that celebrates both.

The project is called ART @ GC, and the first show runs from June 24th to July 23rd. The works of poster artists Matthew J. Brown and Gregg Coffey are being showcased, as well as music photography by Bambi Guthrie, Ryan Hodges and Mark Lahey

Mood music for the occasion is being provided by Parallel Crossers, Jafunkae & Friends and Rat King, all bands formed by Guitar Center's staff.

For a look at the motivation behind the project, WBOI's Julia Meek met with its originator, Jay Carroll, one of the Center's Instrument Repair Techs, to discuss this new series, and its importance to the area's music scene.
