The Associated Press broke the news this week that Governor Mike Pence’s administration was planning to launch a state-run news service that would pitch stories to the press and the public.

After negative reactions poured in from both inside and outside the state, the administration clarified that it was simply building an improved resource aimed at getting better information out to Hoosiers.

On Tuesdsay, WBOI’s Sean Bueter spoke with Andy Downs from the nonpartisan Mike Downs Center for Indiana Politics at IPFW about the story, public reaction, and the changing ways that government and the media inform the public.
