Five years ago, Rob Martinez was a new volunteer for WBOI who was interviewed for a recurring segment on hobbies. His hobby was collecting Christmas records.
Every December since, WBOI has been proud to present selections from his expansive, ever growing collection. This December marks the fifth consecutive year "The Nights Before Christmas" will air on Northeast Indiana Public Radio.
"I'm very grateful to WBOI for allowing me to play Christmas music that you won't find anywhere else on the dial," Martinez said. "With 36,000 songs to choose from, we've barely scratched the surface during these past five years."
Three shows are scheduled for December:
Wednesday, December 16th - 9 PM to 11 PM - a special look back at segments from the first four years of the show.
Friday, December 18th - 8 PM to 11 PM - Rob will be taking YOUR requests to fill the three hours (see below).
Wednesday, December 23rd - 9 PM to 11 PM - a whole new show featuring themes like "Christmas in Space" and "Non-Associated Holiday Songs Associated With The Holidays".
