Ten Local Businesses Awarded Commerical Facade Grants

Zach Bernard/WBOI News

The City of Fort Wayne awarded Commercial Facade Grants to ten local businesses, amounting to an overall $250,000 investment from the City. The money from these grants will be used for repairs and maintenance on the exteriors of these ten properties.

The announcement was made at Hop River Brewing in downtown Fort Wayne, one of the properties to receive a grant. Hop River co-owner Ben Jackson says these grants are integral to being able to improve his business, and the city as well.

“The Facade Grants are invaluable to businesses like ours, and let’s us help continue the revitalization of downtown. I look forward to continuing our association and rebuilding downtown.”

Hop River will be using the grant money to replace damaged brick on the exterior of its building, and will also invest in aesthetic improvements around it.
